What to expect...

Dear Wise Women 🖤, Lammas is the Feast of the First Harvest, honouring the women who created agriculture, especially grains. In the British Isles, corn dollies made from the last harvested wheat hold the energy of the grain Goddess, bringing good luck when placed above a door or mantle. 🌾 Corn, derived from the Greek word "korn" for grain, includes wheat, oats, barley, and rice. Corn was a generic word in English for any grain. Corn is linked to Kore, the Great Mother, whose name appears in many forms like Ker, Ceres, and Kali, signifying the mother of civilization and endless fertility. 🌽 Ancient Greeks honoured grain in the Eleusinian mysteries, which revealed an ear of Korn as a symbol of death and rebirth. The symbolism of grain representing life's cycle is a universal theme found across many cultures. 🥖 All the seeds that quietly germinated through the winter, tenderly pushed forth leaves in the spring, and vibrantly burst with growth in the summer are now ready to harvest! 🌻 This group is for women born female, celebrating the stages of Maidenhood, Motherhood, and Cronehood. Our purpose is to honour and educate on the spiritual and physical aspects of the female life cycle, including menarche, menstruation, pregnancy, lactation, miscarriage, abortion, and menopause. Please bring the following items to enhance your experience: 1. 2 candles with jars 2. Warm and weatherproof clothing 3. A cup 4. Something to sit on (for your comfort during our gathering) Optional Contributions: 1. Food to share at our communal feast, embodying the spirit of abundance and community. 2. Decorations for our altar, allowing you to infuse our sacred space with your unique energy and intentions. Grains and garden goodies of all sorts are traditional. 3. A crown made out of holly or any grain (grass works too!) 🌾 See you soon, as we embrace the magic of Lammas together! You are very welcome here. With anticipation and warmth, Vanessa 🖤 PS: As we gather in this circle, let's honour the sacred space we create together by respecting confidentiality. What is shared within this circle stays within this circle. This includes the personal stories, experiences, and feelings expressed by each participant. PPS: Ritual or circle lengths may vary depending on the flow of the talking stick and group sharing; please come prepared to stay until the end.
